Balgonie/Kipling team win Iron Science Teacher
This afternoon we hosted the prairie regional finals for the Iron Science Teacher competition. Science teachers from across Canada are competing to see who can put on the most dazzling show involving a science project that incorporates a special secret ingredient. This year's secret ingredient was sugar!
We had lots of media out to cover it. CBC Television, CTV, the Leader-Post, and the Leader-Post online all came out to watch. Team One was made up of four science students at the University of Regina. Their "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" skit was great. They even set off the fire alarms!
Team Two, consisting of three teachers from Greenall School in Balgonie, and another teacher from Kipling, came out on top. Singing! Dancing! Spitting fire!
Team Two will now move on to the final in Calgary. Good luck team! I know you'll make Saskatchewan proud.
