We have a whole bunch of new things on the exhibit floor. Check out the photos!

The seating at Space Stadium Stage is new and improved, and has more room!

The backdrop has been redesigned as well. What you can't really tell in this photo is that there is a whole lot of extra storage in behind it, which makes all of the Science Explorers very, very happy:

Check out photos of the old stage and the old backdrop.

The back of the stage also has new stuff. We added some full colour photos of Canada's two newest astronauts, plus we now have a projector showing a space video on a screen. The video used to be on the back of the seating of Space Stadium stage, but it looks way more awesome here:

We have this new Loop the Loop puzzle, which is now next to our other puzzles:

Hey, check out this box of brains!

It's from an exhibit that isn't quite done being set up yet:

Science Explorer Lisa demonstrates our new "Pedal up the Power" device, which shows how much energy you can produce by pedalling a bicycle:

Okay, you can tell with that one that it isn't brand new. That is a mighty old tv monitor! It's new to us though. And we had to take our bicycle exhibit off the floor a few months ago, so it's nice to replace it with something that works again! The Telus World of Science in Calgary was giving away exhbits they don't need anymore, and they were kind enough to give these things to us! Obviously they didn't give us the stage, but they gave us everything else I've mentioned, plus this:

Theremin

It's called a Theremin. Here is the explanation plus a closeup:

Check out Kim, our Manager of Corporate Development, giving me a demonstration:

Lastly, this is my favourite new thing on the exhibit floor. Science Explorers Ciara, Jenn (who is brand new) and Lisa are demonstrating it for us:

Science Explorers pulling their weight

It lets you pull 1/7, 1/5 or 1/3 of your weight. Which one would be more difficult?

We have even more new stuff going out soon too, but they're not done yet so I'll wait to give you photos. Some very cool things though!

Stay curious,
Collette
