Camp-Ins

 

Sleep over at the Saskatchewan Science Centre!

Available from September through June, camp-ins are a great way to integrate science education into a fun all night excursion. Perfect for year-end class trips, sports team windups, community group excursions, or even family reunions, our Camp-In programs offer a very unique and memorable stay at the Saskatchewan Science Centre.

Cost

$40 per student

$10 per adult chaperone with a ratio of 1 adult helper for every 5 students

Risk-It-All Camp-In is at no cost to you, thanks to support from the Community Initiatives Fund, Problem Gambling Community Grant. This program is reserved for under-served, rural and at-risk youth.

Scales & Tails Camp-In

Grades K - 5

What’s the difference between an amphibian and a reptile? How do snakes smell? Why are ferrets so flexible? Learn all this and more in our up-close and personal encounter with some of your favorite Science Centre residents. Hunt for clues on the exhibit floor and get creative with our Create-a-Creature feature!

Space Adventure Camp-In

Grades 4 - 8

Blast off to outer space in 5, 4, 3…! Your astronaut training begins at the Science Centre as you develop a space vehicle to safely land on Mars, discover the science of the stars, and help Discovery Jones prepare for life out of this world.

Anatomy After Hours

Grades 6 - 9

Is strength or balance more important on the 18.3m climbing wall?  Explore the world’s most magnificent machine—your own body! Discover the amazing features of the human body in this anatomy themed camp.

Dates: November – June
Tuesday - Saturday
Times: 6:15 pm – 8:30 am
Min: 25* students or equivalent fee
Max: 40 students
Cost: $40 per student; $10 per adult chaperone

NOTE: All campers must bring a completed SSC climbing waiver. Due to time limits and the need for camper supervision, chaperones will not be climbing.

Risk It All Camp-In

Grades 6 – 9

What do gambling and rock climbing have in common? What’s the difference between games of skill and games of chance? Find out as you explore the science of risk-taking. Put your understanding of probability, chance and luck to the test as you participate in games and challenges. This night is sure to be a rush!

Max: 40 students
