Alchemy Stage Show - March only!

Learn more about life and science during the Medieval Era! Join us in our attempt to turn substances into precious metals and unravel the mystery behind what was once believed to be magic but later transformed into modern day chemistry. Unfortunately, even our homebrewed Elixir of Life can’t continue this show past Medieval March.

Static Electricity Show

Take a look at matter's attractive and not-so-attractive forces!

Electricity is all around us. What is static electricity? The Van de Graaff generator will give you a hair raising experience in which you find out more about electrically charged particles and why they behave the way they do.

Cryogenics

A really cool demonstration about the solids, liquids and gases that make up our world. Find out about liquid nitrogen and the effects of very cold temperatures on matter in all of its states.

Blood and Guts

Trace the suprising travel of blood and food through the body, and learn about the organs that help us process these products.

Explore three systems within the body: the circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems. Make "blood", test your lung capacity, and pull apart Mr. Body's digestive system.

The Space Show

What are gravity and air pressure and how do they affect missions in space?

We will look at how humans have adapted to these physical realities on earth and then how the astronauts deal with the same factors in space.

Fire Show

See some spectacular demonstrations and dynamite experiments while exploring the three elements needed to produce fire. Learn how we can use our understanding of these three elements to practice fire safety.

Cotton Candy -- Sugar Show

What is sugar? Where does it come from?

We discuss the chemistry behind the sugar molecule and the biology of how the human body processes sugar. Experience our taste tests and calorie measurement first hand. Stick around for a demo of how to make cotton candy. And, cotton candy will be sold after the show!

Superheroes of Sustainability Show

Everyone can be superheroes of sustainability to help protect the environment and use resources wisely. During this stage show we look into the superpowers provided by our planet that can be found with fire, earth, air and water. You'll get to learn about solar and wind power, plus witness an erupting volcano!

Spooky Science Show - October only!

Mysterious floating bubbles, liquids that magically transform colour and exploding pumpkins are all things that you can witness during our Spooky Science Show. Watch as we turn the supernatural into stimulating science!

Education through Demonstration

Our Stage Show demonstrations are about 20 minutes long and are guaranteed to entertain you. When you arrive at the Science Centre, please check our daily agenda found at the west entrance doors or ask one of our staff for the day's Stage Show schedule.
