Healthy Bodies

Students will learn the importance of keeping their bodies healthy. They will explore the Canadian Food Guide, how food is digested, how we get energy from our food, and how that energy is burned. Through interactive activities, students gain the skills to make informed decisions about maintaining their health.

    • USCK.1: Develop basic habits to establish healthy relationships with oneself, others, and the environment.

    • USC1.2: Determine, with support, the importance of the brain, heart, and lungs and examine behaviours that keep these organs healthy.

    • USC2.2: Determine how healthy snacking practices influence personal health. 

Virtual Workshop Supplies:

The Saskatchewan Science Centre provides everything needed for in-person workshops at the Science Centre. If you are doing this workshop virtually, you will be required to gather the following supplies ahead of time:

Each student will require:

  • Paper plate (1 per student) 

  • Coloured markers or pencils 

  • Eye spy activity sheet (print out for each student; it can be in black and white)
