Space Day

Kids are out of school and we're ready to blast off!  Join us for Space Day and participate in a ton of extra space themed activities, all for your General Admission! That means our Members get all of this for free.

Here's what's on:

  • Star Lab – Shows at 10:15, 11:00, 11:45, 12:30, 1:15, 2:00, 2:45, 3:30

    • Join us to stargaze in our inflatable planetarium.
      • Space is limited and first-come-first-served, so sign up for one of the show times at Front Desk when you arrive.
  • Astronaut Suits - Runs 11:30-2:30

    • Astronauts wear space suits to keep them protected from the harsh vacuum of space. Can you build a space suit to protect your marshmallow astronaut from our harsh vacuum chamber?
  • Canadarm Challenge - Runs 10:30-12:30 and 1:30-3:30

    • Canada is a world leader in robotics, and one of our most famous robots is the Canadarm II which is attached to the International Space Station. We’ll be challenging you to make your own Canadarm to carry out a set of tasks!
  • Film Canister Rockets - Runs 10:30-3:30

    • For astronauts to get into outer space, they use a rocket ship that uses liquid hydrogen, liquid oxygen and a solid propellant for fuel. Try your hand at making a mini rocket that uses household items to launch!
  • Mars Lander - Runs 10:00-11:30 with an 11:30 drop time, and 2:00-3:30 with a 3:30 drop time

    • Oh no!  Our lovely space shuttle is going to be crash landing on the surface of Mars!  Let’s use the materials we have available to soften the landing, so our egg-stronauts survive this situation!

Why not add a showing of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to your awesome Space Day?  We've got shows at 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm and are the only theatre in Canada showing it in IMAX 15/70mm film! Please note that Rogue One is rated PG-13.
