Science Connections is a monthly program created especially for adults and lifelong learners who love to explore, discover, and connect. Each session features a fascinating science talk led by Saskatchewan Science Centre educators or guest experts, opportunities to experience our interactive exhibits, and complimentary Caliber coffee in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

Whether you join solo or with friends, Science Connections provides a relaxed, social, and inspiring way for adults to stay curious and engaged with the world around them.​

Using AI to Predict Disease Outbreaks

Join Dr. Affan Shoukat as he discusses how integrating artificial intelligence with established epidemiological principles enables us to derive meaningful insights from noisy and non-traditional epidemiological data, such as wastewater, social media, and mobility patterns, to better predict outbreaks, develop early warning systems, and guide public health decisions.

Participants will enjoy a 45-minute presentation, followed by time for questions, discussion, and reflection in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
