Virtual Family Camp-In - Outstanding Owls

Build a burrowing owl habitat out of blankets, get into your comfy jammies and spend a family evening with us exploring the wonderful world of owls during our Virtual Science Family Camp-in on Friday, October 23rd.

Create your own owl hand puppet, dissect an owl pellet, design a bird wing, and discover how owls have adapted to different environments, what their calls sound like, and their role in myth and story from our special guests, the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences and the Saskatchewan Burrowing Owl Interpretive Centre. Meet and learn about Bubo, the great horned owl that lives at the Saskatchewan Science Centre. Finally, enjoy a bedtime story with a librarian from the Regina Public Library.

A supply kit will be delivered before the event and will include materials for the hands-on activities during the camp-in as well as some additional activities you can do at home as a family to keep the fun and learning going all weekend long.
