Understanding Climate Change Beyond the Headlines
Wednesday, September 16 | 9:30 am
What do you know about climate change? Join Dr. David Sauchyn as he discusses understanding climate change beyond the headlines.
People learn about climate change from many sources: social media, traditional news outlets, personal observation, friends and family, scientific reports, generative AI tools like ChatGPT, and the Science Centre itself. Because these sources vary widely in depth and accuracy, what audiences know and believe about climate change differs from person to person. This presentation will offer an overview of how Saskatchewan’s climate is changing, based on current scientific evidence.
Participants will enjoy a 45-minute presentation, followed by time for questions, discussion, and reflection in a relaxed, welcoming environment. As with all Science Connections sessions, the morning also includes time to explore the Science Centre’s exhibit floor, and complimentary Caliber Coffee.
This session is designed to be informative, engaging, and confidence-building – perfect for curious minds interested in science, energy, and the future of innovation.
