Much of this phase of the revitalization project has been made possible through funding provided by the Government of Canada and the Province of Saskatchewan as part of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP).

Our vision for an entirely renewed space doesn’t end here. There is more work to be done and funds to raise, which requires the support of our community – individuals, businesses, and industry leaders all have a role to play in a future Saskatchewan Science Centre.

Saskatchewan Science Centre Washrooms

The learning and fun shouldn’t stop when you go to the bathroom!

The Science Centre’s first and third-floor bathrooms are being completely renovated and modernized. These new designs will add to our already amazing and award-winning washroom experiences, ensuring our position as the #1 place to go #2 for years to come.

The first-floor washroom design plays with the theme of light, moving to a unisex style with individual bathroom stalls. The addition of an adult change table and completion of our private family room for bathroom duties or breastfeeding round out the design.

The third-floor washroom adds to the Building Connections experience with a blueprint design chockful of fun and whimsical Easter eggs.

A complete refresh of the space, the NEW Richardson Ag-grow-land includes new interactive exhibits, a new play structure to explore, and more!

Learn about one of the most technologically innovative industries in the world, agriculture, right here in Richardson Ag-grow-land at the Saskatchewan Science Centre! Watch for the first phase of the exhibit installation in April of 2022.

Wild! Saskatchewan

Tomorrow's leaders need to be equipped for tomorrow's challenges, and the Saskatchewan Science Centre is providing opportunities with this exhibit to prepare our children for the future they will inherit. Providing children and youth with environmental education will help them become the educated thought leaders of tomorrow.

Understanding water, water cycle, watersheds, and wetlands is the first phase of this exhibit renewal. Opening in spring 2023 the new water table will allow visitors to explore and learn in a fun and interactive way.

Estimated Completion Date: December 2023

Building Connections

The Building Connections exhibit explores energy through something we can all understand and relate to, which is our home. Visitors discover the story of power and how we power our homes and communities in this highly engaging, hands-on experience. As the future of energy production is changing so too will our exhibits. Expanding on the energy theme will be an exploration of renewal energy, the impressive tools, and big ideas the industry is exploring.

Estimated Completion Date: Summer/Fall 2024

IMAX Theatre Revitalization

The Kramer IMAX Theatre is the largest movie screen in Saskatchewan at 52 feet tall and 73 feet wide. One of the few remaining 3D IMAX 15/70mm theatres in the world, we know that our visitors have come to love being part of the global release plans for films like Christopher Nolan’s TENET, special re-release screenings such as The Dark Knight Trilogy, and amazing documentary content.

While maintaining our capacity to show incredible IMAX 15/70mm films, we will add a new digital IMAX with Laser system to be better able to provide the content that YOU want.

You can help make this new and exciting digital system a reality! Click the button below to donate, and help us bring this incredible IMAX experience to our community.
